Rates are established each spring for the following year's Sessions, contingent upon current economic conditions. Program charges cover the professional services of the resident and visiting staff, including the directed retreat, spiritual direction, plus room and board. Because of the Sangre program's community-living arrangements, board at the Center includes not only meals but also the use of laundry machines, linens, some social activities, picnics, snacks, etc. Also included in these charges are regularly scheduled trips which are part of the program and some limited availability of vehicles (at a small rental charge) for unscheduled trips. Expenses of a personal nature or other optional activities e.g., medical treatment, long-distance telephone calls, craft sessions, free weekend expenses, postage, personal purchases, a wilderness experience, massage, etc are not included in the program charges. Past participants have estimated that an adequate budget for personal expenses might range from $800 to $1,200, depending on activities chosen and purchases made.

The program charge for both 2008 Sessions is: $8,350. The $50 registration fee accompanying the application form is later applied to program charges; this fee is refundable only if an application has not received staff approval. A $1,000 first payment on program charges is required on receipt of the acceptance letter. This confirmation-of-acceptance deposit is fully refundable if the Center receives notice of withdrawal at least sixty days prior to the opening date of the session, or if no position opens for an approved applicant on the Waiting List of a session. The remaining program charges are due one month before the program begins. Future charges ordinarily reflect changes in the cost of living. The total cost for both 2009 programs is $8,600.

Financial assistance is available toward tuition. Please contact us to see whether we can help eliminate finances as an obstacle to your participation in the Sangre program.

When arranging flights to Sangre the arrival airport is Albuquerque, not Santa Fe. If you do decide to attend Sangre and are accepted, plan to arrive in Albuquerque between 12:00 pm and 2:30 pm on the day that the program begins.
